Snuggle Puss! Choosing a Bed For Your Cat Disclaimer
Petalia Resident Vet
Have you ever found your cat curled up in a basket on top of a cupboard? Or in a pile of your nice clean clothes? Cats are notorious for finding the most unlikely of places to sleep in. Why not get a special bed just for your feline friend and with the large range of styles, colours, fabrics and materials available you can be sure to find just the right one to suit your cat, and your décor!

Cushions   Top
Some cats may prefer a soft, cosy, floppy cushion to sink into - not just any old cushion, mind you. If you have more than one cat and only a single 'just right' cushion, be prepared for a battle! There are even cushions available in the shape of a big paw complete with leopard skin covering for the ultimate fashion-concious cat napper.... your cat might have to fight you for this one!

Mattresses and Futons   Top
Mattresses are less bulky than pillows or cushions and are ideal to put in your cats favourite sleeping place, in a basket or box, or on the floor in a sunny spot, on a cupboard or other perching place. Futon mattresses made with wool filling and a removable, washable calico cover are ideal for the car, inside the house and for taking away on holidays. The wool filling also means they are cool in summer and warm in winter, and keep fleas at bay.

Foam beds   Top
Some cats love to snuggle and like the security that a foam cuddler bed offers. Material covered foam forms a warm and cosy home for your kitten or cat. Some are in the shape of an igloo, available in a range of eye-catching fabrics with a covered reversible mat for easy cleaning. Then there is the 'cubbie', shaped just like a miniature kennel for one or two cats to curl up inside, also available in a variety of stylish fabrics designed to match or blend with any décor. Both are machine washable and 'flea free'.

Did you know?   Top
During sleep a cat’s body temperature will drop slightly, explaining why some like to curl up in a sunny spot, over the heat vents or in front of the fire, or right next to their owner.
